Sinitta Renet Malone is the daughter of Canadian actress and singer Miquel Brown, and Anthony Blackett. Her birth year is usually cited as 1968, although some press sources have alleged she was born earlier, perhaps 1966 or even as early as 1963. The issue may have its origins in Sinitta's teenage years, when she apparently pretended to be older for professional and personal reasons, including when she started dating the then 25-year-old Simon Cowell in 1983, apparently at age 14. The allegations of age fabrication have persisted despite the fact that Sinitta's mother, Miquel Brown, was herself apparently only 14 years old in 1968, making an earlier birthdate for Sinitta unlikely,[citation needed] however there are other reliable sources which suggest that her mother was actually born in 1945 rather than 1954, which means the earlier birth years are perfectly feasible.
